Public Notice:

The Cane River Waterway Commission advises boaters to navigate in safe and prudent manner.  Always being mindful of wake damages to other boaters and shorelines.  A reminder that navigation lights are required for all boats from sunset to sunrise, a boating safety course certification for all powered operators,  no wake zones are idle speed only, speed limit on the lake is 40 MPH, Jet ski operators must be 16 and older, life jacket requirements:  for kids is 16 and under, all ages for jet skis, tiller handled vessels, and water sport activities,  rules of the road apply to Cane River Lake, wake surfing, boats with added attachments, filled baffled chambers, and devices that are used to create a large wake for water sport activities are prohibited as they cause enormous erosion to the shoreline and interfere with navigation as Cane River Lake is a narrow channel averaging 300’ in width with areas less than 200’ just to name a few.
